Staying at this homestay is like embarking on a surprising journey! The landlord was as enthusiastic as a long lost old friend, and from the moment we walked in, we felt full of warmth and care. The room was meticulously and comfortably decorated by the landlord, with every detail revealing their care, as if telling a welcoming story.<\/p>

What surprised us the most was that the room and garden were filled with carefully arranged Halloween decorations upon check-in, making our trip even more unforgettable. This room is really amazing! I can’t wait to come back next time and strongly recommend it to everyone!<\/p>

This place was absolutely fabulous, the lodge had everything we needed and more for a comfortable stay , the gardens are amazing a decorated beautifully for\u00a0 <\/span>Halloween I can only imagine Christmas would be like a winter wonderland. We will definitely be back if glad will have us \u2665\ufe0f<\/p>

We were back for our second stay in Glad and Kenny’s beautiful garden lodge. The setting is peaceful and the garden is amazing – our two young kids loved exploring, and it’s the perfect place for hide and seek. The lodge is so well equipped – hairdryer and iron plus toiletries and loads of board games for the kids, and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need! Eggs, butter, milk, bread and jaffa cakes (!!) were also provided, which was so kind and unexpected. Glad and Kenny couldn’t have been better hosts – they gave us a friendly welcome, offered help when our youngest kid was poorly, and waved us off with a bag full of home-grown veg from their garden. It’s a real treat of a place, and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Thanks Glad and Kenny, we’ll be back again I’m sure!<\/p>

We had a lovely time and was a perfect place as a bolt hole to the surrounding places we wanted to visit. The grounds are amazing, dog friendly and the accommodation was perfect for our family. Glad and Kenny were very welcoming. The Lodge had everything needed, with some extra special birthday things prepared for us. Thank you! The kitchen was fully equipped and we really enjoyed the variety of games and toys for our little one. The Lodge is in a garden oasis which our toddler and dog loved exploring together. We found lots of beautiful rare flowers! We enjoyed a great bbq in the folly. Very easy to get in and out the Airbnb and was behind a secured and padlocked gate which made us feel very safe. Within 6 minutes drive you can reach any shop imaginable at the retail park, with multiple supermarkets etc. It took us 38 minutes to get to Beamish museum – some of which Kenny built! Amazing. We had the best time, thank you so much<\/div>

Highly recommend Gladys\u2019s beautiful place with amazing spacious private and secure garden. Great communication from directions to check in and Ideal for children and pets safety. Simply wonderful and unique garden\/outbuildings and landscaping created over many years by Gladys and her extremely talented husband Kenny. The accommodation was wonderful with everything you need with bright and panoramic views from every aspect of the beautiful outside space. We loved our stay and hope to return very soon!:)<\/div>

What an absolute gem of a find, peaceful and quiet, but with an outstanding garden with loads to explore. The folly was a great addition and wonderful to have a bbq. The dogs loved the open garden, and lounge was great to relax in with all the open view. Would highly recommend this property for not only its uniqueness, but also the hosts, they were wonderful<\/div><\/div><\/div>

We loved every minute of our week with Glad and Kenny. They were perfect hosts, respecting our privacy but so friendly and helpful that we really felt at home with them. The garden is wonderful, full of interesting features and plants, with birds and their songs everywhere. The big conservatory on the lodge made us feel like we were living outdoors, but cosy and warm at the same time. We found plenty of local interest and lovely walks. We would highly recommend this home from home.<\/div>

Kenny and Glad were really friendly and accommodating, whilst still giving us our privacy. Brilliant provision of essentials incase we forgot anything. Lovely space, well equipped, our 3 year old appreciated the children’s games. Great location to sight see, and access to pubs\/eateries and shops. Beautiful garden. Perfect for our stay and hope to visit again when it’s warmer and can enjoy the outdoor space. Couldn’t fault it<\/div>

Glad and Kenny were excellent hosts the garden was amazing and they made us very welcome into there private space. we have been to several places around the UK and to be honest this was one of are favourites by far. We loved our stay at Glad and Kenny’s lodge. They are wonderful hosts! The lodge and surrounding garden is beautiful – we stayed for Christmas and the garden looked amazing with the Christmas lights. The lodge is really well equipped, we had everything we needed to cook for a family of four. The beds are all comfy and we loved all of the cosy cushions and throws (not that it was cold! The heating is great and easy to use.) Thank you Glad and Kenny for a lovely stay, we can’t wait to come back and see the garden in the summer xx<\/div>

Glad and Kenny are amazing hosts. It\u2019s true what they say-people in the North are the friendliest. They are rightly very proud of their beautiful unique garden and immaculately clean accommodation. Little touches such as an unexpected welcome supply of goodies and a stack of children\u2019s games and toys make such a difference. Kenny kindly lit a roaring log fire for us in his unique hand built ruin in the garden. A fabulous spot to sit and enjoy a drink or two! We stayed here to attend Kynren, a must see spectacular outdoor show with a cast of 1,000 local volunteers-the location was perfect being only 10-15 minutes drive away. Visits to nearby Barnard Castle and Raby Castle are also recommended. Don\u2019t hesitate booking here.
